Promoting a Community Partnership in Education

What We Do

We work with teachers, asking what we can do to enhance their student's experiences, going above and beyond what the school can provide.  We've accomplished that by funding small projects such as music camp tuition and supplies for the science classes, and large undertakings such as the electronic Northwood sign, the new playground, and the auditorium sound system.

We've gone low-tech with geology kits, and high-tech through paying for part of the district's school-wide revamping of its computer system and a laser engraver for our Technology Education Department and Fab Lab.

We've helped support the health and wellness of our students with pedometers and supporting software for physical education classes, sports training equipment for our athletes, and water bottle filling stations throughout the school.

We've sent teachers to conferences to further develop their skills and students to the play "The Diary of Anne Frank" after they read the book during their study of the Holocaust.

We've awarded scholarships through designated funding from the Link Family Scholarship Fund and other scholarships.

In all, we've funded projects or programs in nearly every subject area at Northwood School.

Making an Impact

The NEF has funded nearly $1,000,000 in projects, programs, and scholarships at Northwood School.  These include academics, music, athletics, arts, and civic activities.

New Playgrounds!

This year the Northwood Elementary school children are enjoying an expansive, safe, and very fun playground with places for climbing, swinging, running, and even quiet sitting.

250+ Northwood students recently experienced the Sky Dome immersive science display at the Northwood School, thanks to donations received by the NEF.
